An annual Nutrition Programme, led by Mrs. Deepthy M.Y., Dietician, is conducted to provide students with practical exposure in planning, preparing, and presenting balanced and nutritious meals tailored to the needs of various population groups, thereby enhancing their applied knowledge and skills in dietary management.

Health Camps: The Nursing Institutions served as co-organizers of a mega health camp conducted at Kadaba in commemoration of the 70th birthday of our President. In addition, faculty and students actively participated in various regular health camps organized at different locations by KVG Medical College & Hospital.
• Swachhatha Programmes: A Swachhatha program, led by Mrs. Jimcy John, NSS Coordinator, and Mrs. Laveena K.A., SNA Advisor, was organized at the Taluk Office premises in Sullia on April 22, 2026. The institutions also actively participated in cleanliness initiatives under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and NSS Day activities.
• Awareness Campaigns: Faculty and students were actively involved in awareness programmes on important public health issues such as Pulse Polio immunization and blood donation, contributing to community health promotion.

EVENTS OF NATIONAL AND STATE IMPORTANCE

Faculty members and students of KVG Institute of Nursing and KVG Institute of Nursing Sciences actively organize and participate in various programmes and competitions conducted by the KVG Group of Institutions especially KVG Medical college and Hospital. International Self-care day program was conducted on 24th July 2025. The programmes and events including International newborn week, Mental Health day, Men’s day, constitution day, International Yoga Day, suicide prevention day, world Alzheimer’s day, national library day, world breastfeeding week, world hepatitis day, world environment day, blood donation day, world hand hygiene day, world asthma day, nurses’ day, world no tobacco day, autism awareness day, world tuberculosis day, world health day, Parkinson’s disease day, sleep day, down syndrome day, cancer day, deworming day, voters’ day among others. The best part of observing these days for our students is the exposure they get through participating in various competitions, showcasing their talents and attending informative sessions and much more. We are grateful to the management and dean kvgmch for providing the opportunities for faculty and students.

NASHA MUKTH BHARAT & ORGAN DONATION INITIATIVES

Faculty and students actively participated in the Nasha Mukth Bharat and Organ Donation Walkathon organized by RGUHS in Mangalore. They also took part in district-level street play and reel-making competitions conducted by the District Health Office, Mangalore. In addition, the institution enthusiastically engaged in various competitions and awareness programmes organized by KVG Medical College & Hospital, contributing to the promotion of a drug-free society and the importance of organ donation.

ACHIEVEMENTS IN SPORTS

Our 6th-semester student, Akash Benedict, achieved remarkable success by securing 1st place in the 100 meters race and winning the Best Athlete Award at the RGUHS State-Level Athletics represented RGUHS at the National Inter-University Athletics Championship for two consecutive years. Ms. Anamika Bhagyanathan has secured 4th place in Hammer throw event RGUHS state level athletics championship. Our chess team participated in at mangalore. Our football team participate in RGUHS zonal competition.
In addition, our women’s Tug of War team secured 1st place at the RGUHS State-Level event, held last year at our campus. And 4 of the team members represented RGUHS in all India inter university tug of competition held in Thrissur.
Faculty and students took part in organising KVG sullia half marathon along with kvg group of institutions and participate in the event Mrs. Chandravathi ks, principal, kvgion secured second Place in 10 K run and Mr. Anal of 1st year GNM secured 5th Place in 10 K run.
